Fusible Precut Glass Shapes:
Are waterjet cut and have smooth edges. They may have a small tab that normally will disappear during the kiln firing process, or can be ground or nipped off.
Stringer & Noodles Bargin Boxes:
Are cut with a diamond saw and normally have a smooth edge but due to the delicate sizes may occasionally have a pointed edge.
Precut Glass Sheet Sizes:
They are hand cut to size. Normally, they will have sharp edges and should be handles with care. They are packed with padding between and around so please be aware when removing the packing material to handle the edges carefully.
Frits, Blown Glass and Scrap Glass Packs:
Frits are crushed glass comes in different sizes. Normally the larger the grain size the more often it can have some sharp Edges. Blown Glass is normally not annealed and it breaks easily if you drop it. It too can have sharp edges. Scrap Glass Packs are hand cut so like Sheet Glass can have sharpe edges.
- All of our many decals can be used for crafting project like decoupage or non kiln fired.
- Decals are normally used on any kiln fired COE Glass or lower temperature Ceramic projects.
Note:
When fired, the base glass color can change the appearance or color intensity. A white opaque background produces the best color decals. A Clear base can make them more transparent unless you apply a white decal or enamel white under it. White and Metallic decals look best on a Black or dark base. Tack Fusing to 1225 degrees F produce the best results.

Fusible Decal Photos:
The Colors in the Photos are mostly created from scans to be as accurate as possible but viewing images on the internet will vary by the computer devices' screen color management. The picture is only a representation of the decal's color so colors may vary. Please read the product detailed for further descriptions or contact us.
Decal Dimensions:
There is no guarantee that sheets will be the "exact dimensions" listed or that edges will be perfectly straight. Since they are hand-cut before packaging, the boarders may differ on each decal but not the decal images themselves. This is unavoidable with hand-cut paper products.
Decal Colors:
Decals may display a different color before firing in a kiln. The enamel paints representing White decals is tinted as pink, yellow or blue but it will fire to a full white opaque. Some areas that look white on ceramic decals are meant to fire as a clear space and we try to describe this in the description.

General Recommendations:
- Always remember to remove the protective tissue cover before soaking the decal in water.
- Always use room temperature distilled water when soaking a waterslide decal.
- Always allow the decals to dry completely so as to avoid the decal steaming moisture under the decal and causing it to lift and not bond completely during the firing process.
- When all else fails, read the enclosed instructions. (-;
Terminology Definitions:
-
Luster Decals
: The Profusion brand of decals uses this term when describing their 22 K low fire Gold Decals. It is also used to describe Mica Powdered decals.
-
Colored Decals:
Colored is primarily referring to ceramic decals where more than one color is combined to create a decal design but there are some Fusible Glass decals where this apples as well. The important thing to check is if it is a low or a high fire decal.
-
COE:
This means Co-efficiency of Expansion of the glass when kiln fired. When fusing glass, just match the same number COE, 90 or 96, to insure compatibility when fusing together.
-
Gold or Metallic Decals
: There are two things to remember, do not over handle metallic decals, as you are dealing with a fine layer of mostly rare metals on the surface of a waterslide paper and you do not want to get a crackled affect. Secondly, it is best to fully fuse or slump your glass before applying any decal and in second firing use a Tack or slump fuse to permanently bond the decal for best results.
-
Hi Fire Enamel Decals:
This is normally a full colored enamel decal. As with Luster, Colored, Gold or Metallic decals, full fuse your glass first and fire a second time at a tack or slump fused to achieve the best density of color and maintain fine line details.
When possible we will try to post a picture of a finished glass piece to help inspire your artwork with the actual product. See our site for details Tips or tricks on decals.
Feel free to ask us questions on the product or glass applications!
