    A Novelty... INDEED!
    Fanciful... Whimsical... A Maritime Fairytale ~ captured in elegant glass at height of the victorian era. Set your imagination adrift in its curious details.
    Prepare to fall in love with this mystical and quite peculiar Dish!!
    The fine components of this dish are OUTSTANDING, and the Opaline glass- So wonderfully delicate in appearance, it is truly amazing.
    Condition is very good, indicative of age it does have some little dings or flea bites to the edges of the rim of the lid, and one small chip to the inside rim of the dish. There are also a couple of tiny lines that do not penetrate through the glass, and may be a result of the manufacture process- they do not look to be cracks, just faint surface lines. You will need to look very closely to see any of this (We were not even able to capture this on camera as opaline glass is very tricky to focus on extremely close up), and by no means, will this hinder your appreciation for this 120+ year old piece. We have not attempted to clean the dish- It has a little grime in it's crevices here and there, and we rather like it that way :)  but you can clean it up to sparkle and shine if you so desire. The overall length of the dish is 7" and the height with the lid in place is just under 4".
